This is a simple square made with some lovely fabric I found in Macclesfield Fent shop. The fabric shows different windows and balconies on what I imagine to be red brick homes, Victorian or even earlier. Each window has behind it different families and people, each with their own lives and stories.

The circumstances that people are born into can determine their life story. The gift of education allows people to transcend this and  opens doors that would otherwise remain closed to them. So, it becomes possible to live a different life and to choose the type of life that you want to live.

The flower represents possibilities and growth. It’s a knitted poppy that I bought in Carlisle and only wore for a few days – a handknitted reminder of Remembrance Sunday. Open Education also helps us to capture history and share memories with others. That way, we can all learn.
